History
TrailsEdge is located on the original site of the former “North Branch Club”. Built in the mid sixties, it was the first ski on and off “Hotel Condominium” created in the entire Northeast. Developed by a close-knit group of Fairfield County, Ivy League college friends, its location was carefully chosen after an extensive search of ski on and off locations throughout New England. At the height of its grandeur, the North Branch Club included a full-service restaurant, indoor pool, saunas, and even a tanning salon. Its residents included dignitaries and celebrities such as the former Shah of Iran’s wife, and the wife of legendary comedian, Buddy Hackett.
A quote from its original brochure still holds true:
“Our select little club is not for everyone. But if skiing is what you like to do – right from the club doors down to the lifts and the ski school – then back down from the trails to the club. Let others struggle with cars and parking lots, juggle skis and ski poles and after ski boots – and just wait for the inevitable slowpoke, while our residents are skiing the new powder.”
